Before
starting a new WebSite, we suggest looking through the sample site,
which serves as a tutor of sorts as well as a reference for images
and backgrounds.
To
open the sample site click on FILE, OPEN. In the FILES OF TYPE box
choose WEBSITE. Once you have chosen WEBSITE files, you can now click
on Sample.wbs and click OK.
When
you are ready to start a new WebSite click on File, New Web Site.
The Web Site wizard will launch, offering you 3 choices.

For
people who are completey new to building a web site, we reccomend
you try using one of our pre-made theme sites. The Theme sites
already have a background, coordinated type style, buttons and color
scheme. There is text on every page to tell you what you need to
enter and how you can alter the text on the buttons and images. Click
on "Create a New Site Using WebSite Themes".
Click
here to see the Tutor for Creating a Theme Site.
-
For
people who have an idea of how they want their site to work, and
have a little knowledge of how web sites work, choose the "Create
a New Site From Scratch" option. Click
here for the Start Site from scratch tutorial.

For
people who already have a web site established, you can have
WebExpress build a web site file from your existing site. The best
way to make sure this works is to close web express and create a new
directory on your hard drive (usually c:\) named for your web site.
Then put every page that exists on the site into that directory. Next
create a directory inside the new one you just created, and call it images.
Store every image for you site in the images directory. Once this
has been completed start WebExpress, click on File New WebSite and
choose the "Create a Site Using Existing Pages". Follow the
instructions in the Wizard. |
