How do I rotate pictures, text frames and other objects?

You can rotate almost any object you can create in WordExpress.

Rotating with the Mouse

  1. Select the Rotate tool from the Tool bar at the top of the screen.

  2. The cursor changes to show a almost complete circle with an arrow at one end.

  3. Click on the object you wish to rotate to select it.

The cursor changes for selected objects which can not be rotated. Objects such as squares, circles, and grouped objects can not be rotated.

  4. Move the mouse over one of the four corners of the object. You rotate from any one of the four corners.

The cursor changes to directional arrows, alerting you that you are over the rotation spot.

  5. Click on the rotation spot and while holding the mouse down, move it in a circular motion. When you have reached the desired angle of rotation, release the mouse.

Rotating using Object Properties

Regardless of what type of object you wish to rotate, you can double click on the object to bring up its properties. You will then find a Rotatation Field which allows you to precisely set the degree of rotation.

Notes:

(a) Text frames and bitmap pictures are limited to 90 degree increments. As the object is being rotated, a dotted line shows the rotation, as the object nears the next 90 degree increment, a solid line snaps to the final rotated position.

(b) WordExpress will not allow you to rotate an object such that the object would be positioned off the page. If this occurs, first move the object away from the edge of the page, and then try rotating it again.
