How can I add pictures, graphics and images to my design?

There are two ways to add pictures and graphics to your document. You can make them floating pictures which can be moved precisely anywhere with the mouse, but always remain exactly where they were placed. You can also insert them into the text stream, which allows them to stay with any related text.

WordExpress makes it easy to place almost any kind of clipart into your document. Here's how:

Floating Pictures:

  1. Select the Pointer Tool.

  2. Choose the Picture Tool on the Control Strip.

  3. Click and hold the mouse button while dragging the cursor to the size and shape for your picture. If you simply click without dragging, the picture will come in at its original size.

  4. Release the mouse button and you will get a standard File Open style dialog. Browse over to the folder on your computer that contains your clipart images, and click 'Open'.

The picture is now in your document. You can resize it by pulling on any of the sides or corner. You can move it by clicking on the graphic and dragging the picture to a new location. You can double click on it to change any of its other properties.

Inserted Pictures:

  1. Select the IBeam Tool.

  2. Place the cursor in the text where you would like the picture placed.

  3. Choose Picture from the Insert menu. Select your picture and press OK.

  4. Double click on the picture to resize or change any of its other properties.
