If
your labels are printing outside of where the label lies on the
paper you are using, you are probably not using the correct template.
To
check what template you are using, have the Design open and click on
Help, About Smart Design. An information box will open telling you
the name of the template, the file name and a description of the template.
The
first place people go wrong is that they may be using the wrong type
of paper template. People in North America use US Letter paper, and
people in Europe and the rest of the World use A4 paper. If you live
in the US and your template has A4 in the name, you are using the
wrong template for your paper type. In this case you need to start a
new design, using the correct template.
NOTE: If
you are using the Memorex CD Labelmaker program, you may not be able
to find the correct template for your type of paper. This is because
the CD did not install the right templates when you installed
originally. The best way to remedy this problem is to un-install the
program and re-install it, this time, while you are re-installing,
choose
both types of paper when it asks you what type of paper you use.
Once you get the program started, close the design that opens
automatically and click on File, New to start a new design. Choose
the correct template for the paper type you use, and you should be on
your way.
To
start a new design click on File, New and look in the folders
available for the template you need. Double click on the blue folders
to see what is inside them, and click once on a template name to see
a preview of it. Remember, you need to use a template that
corresponds to the paper type used in your country, as well as the
brand of label you use.
You
will also notice that there is usually more than one template
available. Each template differs slightly from brand to brand, so
make sure that you choose a template from a folder that is named for
the brand of label you use. Once you are viewing the correct brand of
template, make sure you are using the correct layout type. For
instance, CD Stomper brand labels come in two different types. Pro CD
Labels 2-up and CD Labels 2 up. The difference between the two is
very apparent once you view the preview.
