#02-032 Converting Between Label Types Keywords: convert label types Last updated: April 1, 1998 Q: Can I convert a design to another label type? A: There is no straight forward way to convert a design from one label type to another (i.e. a shipping label to a mailing label). But here's how you can get the information to a new label type, without having to recreate it: 1. Open your exisiting design 2. Choose the Pointer Tool from the Control Strip. 3. Select all objects via 'Edit' Select All (or press Ctrl-A). 4. Select 'Copy' from the 'Edit' menu to copy your design into the clipboard 5. Select 'New' from the 'File' menu and choose the new label template 6. Choose the Pointer Tool again, and select 'Paste' from the 'Edit' menu to insert your design into the new label template Note: If the label types are very similar, you will just need to reposition the objects slightly to make them look good. If the label types are quite different, you will most likely need to resize and reposition many objects to make it fit the new label size.
