#02-031 Customizing a DesignExpress Database Keywords: database Last updated: April 1, 1998 Q: Can I customize my DesignExpress Database? A: You cannot change the number of fields or the way they are laid out on the screen, but you can change the field names to make them more meaningful for your database. Here's how: 1. Choose 'Rename Fields' from the 'Database' menu. 2. Select the field you wish to rename from the 'Field Labels' list. 3. In the 'New Label' field, modify the text to the label you wish to use. When finished, press 'Set'. 4. Continue steps 1-3 for each field label you wish to change. When you are finished, press 'Done'. Note: The 'Card File' database template is especially useful for general purpose databases. You should consider this for non-address type databases.
