Using different fonts

Why does WebExpress only show six or seven fonts for use?

This is a fundamental HTML problem. You can use any fonts installed on your system with WebExpress, but you must keep in mind that the person reading your web pages might not have these same fonts installed on her system. This is part of the challenge of designing pages for the world wide web: to enable people with different computers, systems, and fonts to enjoy your pages.

The list we include has the two basic fonts supported by all browsers (Normal and Typewriter). It also has font sets (a special extension supported by Microsoft and Netscape browsers) for all the fonts that Microsoft supplies for free with their browser. Therefore, it is highly likely your readers will also have these fonts.

If you wish to add more fonts:

  1. Choose Font Sets from the Utilities menu

  2. Select a font set and click Modify.

  3. To add a font to the set, select a font in the Available Typefaces field and then click Add. Again, keep your potential readers in mind.

  4. Click OK and then click Done to close the font set dialog box.
